Being thrown off is unsettling. It makes me feel physically uncomfortable and a little bit scared.
As entrepreneurs, we try to plan and prepare for every situation-- but every so often, life has a different plan. Sometimes life interrupts you in a BIG way. But more often than not, it is the little, subtle things that creep into the day-to-day and create disorientation.
This stinks because it can make you feel funky, delay your progress, and cause anxiety.
Here is my story:
I’ve been working as a marketing consultant for the past 6 years. I’ve been a free agent for quite some time. But there was a stirring inside me. A yearning to uplevel. To be mentored and learn how to be a world-class marketer for high-growth companies. I found that opportunity in June and have been mentally stretched and pulled executing strategies to double and triple growth in an already 8-figure business. This job is taking up most of my time and represents a significant portion of my income.
When you take on a big project and go through a season of change/growth there are psychological ramifications. I was not prepared to experience the loss of independence, being responsible for a team of employees (dealing with politics and emotions), and having the urge to stay safe and play small.
Today I’m digging into how I’ve identified the cause and effect of my being thrown off and how I’ve navigated through my own fears and uncertainty.
Building a successful business on every level takes a different mindset to get you from where you are to where you want to be. The key is to identify this situation that might throw you off (as best you can) and prepare for it.
And if you find yourself in unfamiliar territory, give yourself a little grace. We all get thrown off sometimes.

Today I’m sharing a very special conversation with Christine Seibold.
Christine is a Virtual Freedom Strategist based in Miami and the Owner of Freelance N’ Freedom. She started her entrepreneurial journey as a Virtual Assistant, specializing in social media management and leading administrative projects for other business owners in the health and wellness industry. Since then, she has transitioned into life and business coaching teaching others on how to leave their 9 to 5 jobs to start their own virtual businesses through an 8-week program that she designed.
In January of 2020, Christine launched a second business, Femprendedoras, a women’s entrepreneur community in Seville, Spain that runs workshops and supports women entrepreneurs to learn, grow, support each other and reach their goals so that they can be successful business owners.
As a certified life coach and community leader, her main goal is to help women follow their passion and lead them through the process of how to start their own business so that they can have unlimited vacation, travel the world, have a flexible schedule, spend more time with family and live the freedom lifestyle that they dream of. With a Bachelor’s degree in Public Communications and Spanish and her Masters’ degree from Harvard University in International Relations, Christine has always had the desire to help develop and grow women entrepreneurs around the world, to provide them with the skills and the self-esteem necessary in order to follow their dreams.
In September of 2021, she published her book, Blondie Without Borders, to celebrate 3 years of Freelance N’ Freedom. The book discusses how to set boundaries in life, business, relationships, travel with substances, and more.
Since becoming an entrepreneur, she has shared her experience and has spoken both locally and internationally on topics such as how to be a successful entrepreneur, how to live a life of freedom while working virtually, how to get unstuck in business, and how to set healthy boundaries in work and in life. Additionally, she has been featured in articles such as Voyage MIA, A Wanderous Affair, and also podcasts such as The Becoming Known Podcast and The Virtual Hustle Podcast.
When Christine is not working, you can usually find her trying out different coffees, on the search for the cutest dogs, taking a yoga class, or jetting off to a new country.

Now starts the season of planning. We have hit the home stretch of 2021 and Q4 promises to be full of surprises, I’m sure.
Having a solid goal-setting practice is vital for growth and the one thing you can do for your business to mitigate risk in an ever-changing world.
How much money are you spending and where? What is your ROI? How is your social media team managing your budget? What is your cost per lead?
All of these answers can and need to be tracked on a regular basis for any business. That’s because the rate of change is outpacing our strategies.

I bet you feel anxious from time to time. I do too. But have you ever felt totally overcome by anxiety? So much so that you don’t know how to calm yourself down or silence the ruminating voice inside your head?
I’ve felt that way before. For years.
Being an entrepreneur certainly exacerbates worry and self-doubt. And because entrepreneurship is such a personal journey of growth and development, I thought it might be helpful to share a little about my own experience overcoming anxiety while building my career working with startups.
It’s about changing your mindset.
It’s about reframing your discomfort.
It’s about focusing on gratitude and being fully present.
But…
There is one thing that has been more effective than anything else in helping me come out the other side of my crippling anxiety.
